Jimmy Fallon busts out his best Trump impression to parody that car crash interview

Trump’s latest interview may not have instilled us with any faith at all in how he’s running the country, but it did give us lots of opportunities for memes and jokes straight out of the if-you-didn’t-laugh-you’d-cry playbook.

It also gave Jimmy Fallon the chance to dust off his blonde wig and enter impression mode, sitting opposite interviewer Jonathan Swan and parodying some of the president’s worst moments.

“No, look at these, these are the latest numbers, Jonathan,” drawls Fallon/Trump at one point, flapping some paper in Swan’s direction in a direct reference to that now-infamous coronavirus chart moment. “Maybe you have more up-to-date numbers, you’re Australian, I know Australia is, what, one day ahead? Or is it two days ahead? I haven’t been to Europe in a long time.”

Fallon’s impression is on point, but ultimately it’s difficult to parody an interview that already felt a bit like a cringey comedy sketch.
