NA Chair calls for following parliamentary practice democratically

The National Assembly (NA) chair Ganesh Prasad Timilsina has stressed the need for following parliamentary practices through democratic means. Claiming that a practice has been set up of Speaker and Deputy Speaker staying away from politics to make the dignified post responsible and impartial, he urged impartiality on the part of dignified posts.

The NA chair was addressing a programme organised here on Thursday to exchange experiences among the NA vice chair and deputy speakers of all seven provinces.

Referring to reservation and proportional quotas in terms of geography, caste, community and gender, he viewed such system would discourage the practice of competition and decrease one’s efficiency.

He pledged to do his efforts to strengthen federal and province levels as NA members are true representatives of all local levels and province.
