President Bhandari appoints two residential ambassadors to Egypt and Vienna

President Bidya Devi Bhandari appointed two residential Nepali ambassadors to Egypt and Austria.

President Bhandari appointed Sushil Kumar Lamsal for Egypt and Bharat Kumar Regmi for Austria as well as Nepal’s permanent representatives for United Nations Office in Vienna, according to the Office of the President, Shital Niwas.
The appointment by the Head of the State was made in accordance with the Article 282 (1) of the Constitution of Nepal and at the recommendations of the Council of Ministers, informed Shital Niwas.—-

Needs to reach out Radio Nepal to people’s access with use of technology-Communications Secretary
Kathmandu, July 11 (RSS): Secretary at Ministry of Communications and Information Technology Dr Baikuntha Aryal said the Radio Nepal would be developed as a professional and further credible media with the use of new technology.

At an interaction programme organized here today by Radio Nepal on advertisement and ad agency, Chairperson of Radio Broadcast Service Development Committee Dr Aryal pledged to expand the reach of the public broadcaster Radio Nepal to all citizens.

“We need to develop Radio Nepal as an accessible media to raise public awareness on health and education and present entertainment content targeting far-flung people. It has to be developed as a credible and easy-to-access media.”, he added.

Secretary Aryal underscored the need to develop Radio Nepal as a reliable source of information by considering digitization in its system irrespective of the challenges in radio.

He viewed that false, incomplete and unauthentic news should not be disseminated for the sake of providing quick information to consumers.

According to him, OTT Apps, a digital platform, was already made public to ensure the broadest access of Radio Nepal to all listeners in and outside of the country.

The digital platform was launched for income generation for Radio Nepal through marketization of the contents.
Radio Nepal’s executive director Buddhi Bahadur KC reaffirmed his commitment to make its contents more effective in coming days.

Executive Chairperson of Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS), Dharmendra Jha, Chairperson of Gorkhapatra Corporation, Bishnu Prasad Subedi, and Chairperson of Advertisment Board, Laxman Humagain, and representatives of different organisations were present on the occasion.

Officially established on 20 Chaitra 2007 BS, Radio Nepal is a leading broadcaster of the country. —
