Nepal defeats Kenya by 5 wickets
Nepal defeated Kenya by 5 wickets to start with a win in the first T-20 international cricket series between the two countries.
In today’s match at the Gymkhana Cricket Ground in Nairobi, Kenya, Nepal scored 133 runs at the loss of 5 wickets in 19.2 overs.
Dipendra Singh Aiyri top-scored with 33 runs. Earlier put into bat after losing the toss, Kenya had posted 130 runs after losing 8 wickets in 20 overs. Irfan Karim scored the highest 34 runs for Kenya.
Nepal’s Sompal Kami took 3 wickets and captain Sandeep Lamichhane took 2 wickets. With the win, Nepal has taken a 1-0 lead in the five-match series. The second T-20 match is scheduled to be held on Friday. —
