COVID-19: 271 new cases with one death

The country has recorded 271 new cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours. According to Spokesperson at the Ministry of Health and Population, Dr Sanjay Kumar Thakur, said such number of coronavirus cases was detected in course of conducting 3,920 tests.

The infection rate was nine percent in the last 24 hours, he added. Of the 271 cases, Kathmandu Valley recorded 147 coronavirus cases. Of them, 29 cases was confirmed in Lalitpur district, eight in Bhaktapur district and 110 in Kathmandu district. Kathmandu and Lalitpur have more than 500 cases of coronavirus. Similarly, 175 people have been recovered from the virus during the period.

The recovery rate is 98.5 per cent. Dr Thakur shared that one person succumbed to coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours. The country has 3,194 active cases of coronavirus of which 3,046 people are in home isolation, 148 in institutional isolation, 42 in ICU and eight people are receiving treatment with ventilator support. No one received vaccine against coronavirus in the country in the last 24 hours.
