COVID-19: 203 new cases reported


A total of 203 new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the country in the past 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Population. The cases were revealed in 5,059 samples tested in various laboratories across the country during the same period, said the Ministry.

Similarly, 126 people enjoyed full recovery from the flu-like infection in the past 24 hours, taking the recovery caseload to 984,710 as of now. The recovery rate is 98.6 per cent at present. Likewise, no fatality from the infection was reported in the past 24 hours. However, the Coronavirus infection has claimed 12,015 lives so far, informed the Ministry.

Currently, there are 2,232 active cases of COVID-19 in the country. Among them, 2,152 were being treated in home isolation, 90 in institutional isolation, 17 in ICU and one in ventilator support. Kathmandu district has over 500 active cases of COVID-19 at present while Lalitpur and Chitwan have over 200. Taplejung, Manang, Mustang, Arghakhanchi, Humla, Dolpa, Mugu, Bajhang and Darchula have no any active cases of COVID-19 at the moment. Meanwhile, 429,807 people received vaccination against the virus in a day.
